David J. Lever, CPA

David specializes in helping international clients navigate the tax considerations of entering or expanding into the United States through a startup or acquisition. As Partner, Cross-Border/International Tax at Tronconi Segarra & Associates, his work addresses U.S. federal, state, and local corporate tax implications, international tax structuring, and financing opportunities. He also advises employers and employees on the tax implications of workers moving into and out of the United States, including federal tax and state nexus matters. 

Throughout his career with Tronconi Segarra & Associates, beginning in 2007, David has developed extensive experience addressing the tax complexities that come with doing business across borders. He also assists U.S. taxpayers living abroad with double taxation, FIRPTA, foreign affiliate reporting, FATCA, and expatriation matters. As an IRS Certified Acceptance Agent, he helps expedite the process of obtaining Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers. David also serves as a Client Service Partner and chair of the firm’s Cross-Border/International Pillar. 

Originally from Niagara Falls, New York, David is an avid Blue Jays, Broncos, and Maple Leafs fan is an Eagle Scout and remains actively involved in scouting. David also serves on the School Advisory Board at St. Amelia School. He and his wife, Kari, have five children.
